I just had the pleasure of shooting and producing a live recording of Bill Callahan's show at the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. A Split-Works event.
For concerts I normally shoot alone with an assistant to monitor a stationary camera.
But this being a special event (Bill would play with members of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra), I brought in my friend Charlie to operate a camera as well as myself.
We shot with two GH4 cameras in 4k with matching profiles.
One GoPro 4 silver attached to Bill's monitor at the front.
And one GoPro 4 Black at the back of the room.
I've discovered the GoPro 4 Black can shut down if recording for too long in 4k mode. It tends to overheat when shooting at full spec.
This is less than ideal, as I won't be able to rely on shooting 4k with the GoPro at concerts anymore.
For audio I used the Zoom H6 recording room audio and two feeds from the mixing desk.
